I’m so glad to be stuck in the middle of this jostle between these two weather patterns. It feels like my favorite season decided to stay a while longer and I’m more than fine with that. Its mid-December and we’re having highs around 74 followed by days with highs of 56, its brilliant!

I want this sooo bad. Great conversations, music, experiences shared, loving and laughing till the wee hours of the morn.

Twas my father’s birthday yesterday.

I went sight seeing in Guadalajara last weekend. The days of thanks and giving were spent with the hawtest, cutest, silliest, smartest, most precious boy I know.

2010 Nikon Small World photomicrography winners recently announced. Of the top 20 winners these were two of my favorite, but they're all engrossing nonetheless. Makes me want to soak everything in fluorescent dyes and look at the world through a microscope :)

I realized that I often times have a band or album of the week. Sometimes it’s just one song that I can’t get enuf of. Yesterday I stumbled upon Lower Dens and listened to them all day long while I worked. They have some chill mode songs but also some pretty explosive ones. I got home and made The Bekka listen to them as well. Today I will spend another day with Jana Hunter and Co. in my ear buds :)
One of those albums that gets better and better the more you listen to it.

Months ago this novel was on the NYtimes’ list of top graphic novels. I finally got around to reading it over the wkend and I definitely agree that this is a must must must read.

Asterios Polyp is an American graphic novel by David Mazzucchelli. The main character, of the same name, is a respected architect. After lightning strikes down and burns his place of living, Asterios decides to board a greyhound to Apogee, NY and gets a job as an auto repair mechanic, this all seemingly on a whim. All the while the novel is diffused with scenes from his past.
The novel explores the duality of people’s nature mostly through Greek mythology and the Gods, which was most fitting. Narrated by Asterios dead twin brother, I turned the last page wondering what if any can be a "shadow of the living world", and if there is even a need for one.
Also, I should not fail to mention how the drawings are done in such great taste and ever so appropriate for this stimulating read.

on another note imdb has decided to make their site harder to achieve its purpose, give tons of information. i searched never let me go, the new film by mark romanek. he directed one hour photo, had robin williams as this uber creep. anyway i don't understand what the web designers, if you can call them that, were thinking.
easily accessible has to be number one on the list of things a website should be, especially one as heavily trafficked as imdb. jeez.

The jaguar apparently thought it too hot to come out of his man made den.
The Austin Zoo is a nonprofit animal sanctuary and so its got these lucky/glad-to-be-alive creatures that make for a really good vibe. It's quite peculiar to say the least.
I love this city. And recommend everyone that lives here go pay a visit.

Been watching a lot of Def Poetry these past few days. Some people can put verbs, nouns and adjectives in just the right order. I love the passion.

2 weeks

Resignation. I don't believe I have formally written one of these letters. Google has all the answers, I'm sure there's a template.
My last day of work for the Austin Area Garden Center better known as the Zilker Botanical Gardens, is the 18th. My manager is having a little send off for me next week. I think that is real sweet of her.
They are some good people, my coworkers. I'm going to miss most of them. How sad, but how exciting that I get to meet other good, interesting, nice people/coworkers. They have monthly potlucks ja :o I think I'm gonna like my new place of employment.
It's only a few blocks away from my new apartment!! which means I can ride my bike there, assuming of course that I get up with plenty of time. I'm going to be a 9-5er now. Eh! Its got its pros and cons.

I went out last night to see what i could see see see. But all that I could see see see, was the bottom of the deep blue sea sea sea.
Actually I rode my bike through campus and took some good, and some not so good, photos of lamps. I realized I like to take pictures of lamps.
These were the first I took of the night, and I really liked them both. My holga should be arriving sometime this wk, yay!!

im not entirely sure what this is all about but im in. i need a place to vent. maybe i'll write something good. maybe i won't. either way, i am woman hear me roar. creating your own page is always fun. templates and fonts and colors oh my! as a recent college grad i decided to go with the 'script' for now. it feels cleaner, like i am important haha even professional perhaps. i had my "oh-shit-what-am-i-gonna-do-now-with-my-life" crisis and came to the conclusion that i really shouldnt beat myself about it (after crying and beating myself up about it of course). and so now im at work feeling a bit drunk still and wanting to take a nice long nap.
